/*Printed Material Art Book Fair*/.
Organized and hosted by Landdd showroom and studio, the event revives
the tradition of the much-missed winter Publication Fair.
We'll be there with artist's books, pamphlets, a selection of recent
arrivals in literature, art, and photography . . . and a few surprises!
/From the organizers:/
*Printed Material* is an art book fair free and open to the public
featuring artist's books, zines, artist's catalogs, comics, creative
writing and experimental printed matter from writers, designers and
beloved bookshops in Portland, OR. Hosted & organized by Landdd: a
showroom and studio in NW Portland.
Landdd <https://landdd.org/home> is a showroom and studio founded by
Javier Reyes (of design studio RRRES <https://rrrrrr.es/>) and Lillian
Hardy (of creative production studio Heavy Set). Dedicated to research,
design and production this is a space to host our creative work/visions
between our lives here in Portland, Oaxaca, Alabama, and the Dominican
Republic. We also look forward to working with local
artists/designers/projects to maintain a collaborative ethos, a public
dialogue and an expanding community.
We opened the space in August and the current work on display is of
Javier's project *rrres*. Javier works intimately with artisans in
Oaxaca, using traditional materials that belong to each community to
create wool rugs, cotton throws, palm sculptures and clay pots. This
manifestation all at once elevates and levels all parties involved; it
is a rich tapestry of class, identity and artisanal practice.
