Good news! 
We picked up Ken’s 40 kWh battery from the local B&R today and made an adaptor to read data using Leaf Spy. 
It’s looking great as you can see below. 

We’re tentatively targeting Saturday morning 3/2/24 to start working on and hopefully complete the swap that day.

Ken and I were discussing how the story of the misrepresented LEAF from the Portland auction that is here, combined with a success might make an engaging story if we wants to cover that. Ken Vandehey of our group has arranged to get a 40 kWh battery from a 2018 wreck from B&R with plans to swap into his 2012 LEAF. Yay for a massive range upgrade! 

Once we pick up the pack, possibly in the next few days, we’ll wire up an adaptor cable and use LEAF-Spy to read BMS data before putting it in the car. 
I’m clearing space in my shop so we can do the swap here on the lift. 
We’ve got the CAN Bridge board from China that accepts open source code from Dala to allow the car to accept the battery, and we have watched a lot of videos. Looks like it shouldn’t be too hard. Fingers crossed. 

Does anyone have interest in being around while we work on it to see what’s involved? 
If so we can plan a day and call a gathering around it.
