Mainly the lack of battery cooling - with the larger packs newer leafs 
have, one fast charge can bring the temp to near redline. Doing several 
short charges can be done, but defeats the purpose of having a larger 
pack. Still, some travel can be done - with my first 2011 leaf, it took 
8 charges to get to Seattle from Corvallis, which was about as many as 
you could do before the temp got too high; with my last one, I was able 
to do it with one stop in Centralia - which also brought the temp to 
near redline. The Ariya apparently has proper cooling though.
