Brandon -

I think that having the trailer in Greentown for EV charging would be astounding!

I'll bet the others in the CAEV would concur -

So...  Yes, Please.

Regards,

Larry

Hi Larry,
I run the Solar Trailer for OSU, which you may know has Level 2 charging equipment on board.  I’m confirming with Michael Dalton the placement of the Trailer in the festival this year, but I think it will be as it has in the past located to power anything in Green Town that needs electricity.

If part of Green Town, that draw has been very low and I’d like to arrange for any electric vehicles to be able to charge off the Trailer to not only demonstrate the viability of both technologies to the public, but to make better use of the Trailer’s capacity.

I hope to hear from Michael soon, but thought I should ping you as soon as I could on this.  please let me know what you think.  Thanks,
Brandon

Kirk and CAEV members,

I've attached the Greentown policies - it has times that things can be brought in or removed from the Greentown area, etc.

It's going to be a little disorganized this year, but we'll make it work.  We don't have a physical booth, table chairs, etc, but can bring our own...

If you can bring the vehicle in on Friday, then the set up time is: 11am to 2pm

I still don't know who will be 'manning' the vehicles - but we get two weekend passes with the space.  That being said, daVinci days can really use the ticket sales and support...

I would suggest that some who want to be in the parade do that as their only Saturday activity, and either park their car on Friday/Sunday on the Grass in Greentown or as suggested by Michael Dalton, they park on Madison near the robotics activities.  He wants to know what will be happening by Wednesday.

This is what I've divined so far:
1. Yellow Carmen Ghia - Deb Hollenback
2. Porsche 914 - Gregg Oberlin
3. Mitsubishi iMiev - Mike Everett
4. Honda - Kirk Swaney
5. ???
6. ???

Our travel plans for this weekend have been cancelled, so I’m free to help on Sunday. I will bring the trophies to the track on Saturday before the first race begins, but can’t stay long due to my Dad’s wedding. Also, our property can accommodate up to 3 RV’s if it helps out-of-town race teams. It’s to 15 to 20 minutes drive from the track. Feel free to pass along my cell 541 760 1895.

If I can help with the CorvallisEVclub booth in Green Town anytime after Noon on Sunday, please let me know.

Thom,
Thanks for all of the help you guys can give.  It will be greatly appreciated and welcomed as getting volunteers from Eugene is hard for a race in Corvallis.

Also thanks for picking up the walkie Talkies that was one of my major concerns along with the vidoe at the start finish line.  So thank so much for solving those two equipment problems.

I know that Chris McGowan is camping there after hanging out at the daVinci Days event Saturday night.  I am sure that they would not be upset over one more mobile home there as well.  I am thinking of leaving my truck/trailer there that night and having my wife drive me home that night and back the next morning.  You might want to check with Michael Dalton at 'dr.michael.dalton at gmail.com' just to be sure it is OK with them.  Let them know that you want to be there early to help set up Saturday morning (and coming from Portland that morning makes that harder) and you are staying Saturday night to help keep an eye on the race items around the track.

Zaine will get a weekend pass to all of the daVinci Days stuff for being a driver but if you and or your wife want one also I can get you one for 4+ hours of volunteer time over the two days.  I just need to know so I can request the passes by Thursday morning with full names of all helpers.  There are a number of good bands and other fun events going on that you all might want to hang out and watch.

Thanks again for all of your help over the years,
Mike

Mike,
I am just now seeing this. I will help where I can. I plan on bringing multiple camera’s so you will have a back-up for lap counts if you need them.  I can help once we get Zaine’s car out of the trailer and tear down afterwards as time permits. I’m at work so I am just skimming over the e-mail but I just spoke with Aaron Williams and I will go get the walkie talkies from him tonight so you will have them for the race. I did wonder do you know if we can camp at  Reser Stadium Friday and Saturday night.  Since Mark and Aaron won’t be there I didn’t think we could stay at Marks rental like we did in the past. Thanks for helping bring back one of the nicer courses to the summer racing series, Mike.

Subject: CORVALLIS daVinci DAYS RACE JULY 20-21

Hi Everyone,
Hope all of you are having a great summer.  Mine is going good but it feels like it is starting to slip by as we are about a month in already with ~1 1/2 months left.

DaVINCI DAYS RACE AT CORVALLIS IS ALIVE AND HAPPENING--I HOPE MANY OF YOU CAN MAKE THE RACE.

Next weekend is the race in Corvallis at Reeser Stadium which is part of the daVinci Days fair.  I will be the one hosting this race for the first time and am working through email, etc. trying to get everything coordinated by long distance.

Good news.
EACH CAR THAT REGISTERS GETS A WEEKEND PASS TO DA VINCI DAYS ($25).  YOU CAN GO SEE SOME GREAT MUSIC, CATCH PARTS OF THE KINETIC SCULPTURE RACE, ETC.  SEE THE WEB SITE FOR DETAILS
EACH PERSON THAT SIGNS UP BY THURSDAY OF NEXT WEEK TO PUT IN >4 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER TIME OVER THE WEEKEND WILL GET A WEEKEND PASS TO DA VINCI DAYS AS WELL
THEY HAVE COMMITTED TO $700 OF LAP MONEY THAT WE WILL DISTRIBUTE SO, LIKE LACEY, YOU COULD MAKE SOME MONEY (not counting travel and cost of the car)

INFORMATION:  Here is what we have so far:
--I will arrive on Sat am at ~6:30 to set up the track, pits area, inspection area, lap counting area, etc.  This should all be done by 8:00---Anyone what to come help and have fun?
--Registration and inspections will open ~8:00.  There is a $15 registration fee for each car that wants to race. ---any volunteers for inspectors or registration?
--You can go to the daVinci Days site at 'http://www.davincidays.org/races-revelry/electrathon' and go to  "2013 Electrathon Instructions and Waiver Form" for some information, map, etc. and the minor release form.  This form is a little different as daVinci is carrying its own insurance.  There is room on each form for 4 cars to be listed if you want..or print one for each car.  If the driver is >18 they will be the 'Authorized Signer' but if they are a minor they will need to have a guardian sign in the 'Authorized signer' and print the guardians name then have the driver print their name.
--It would be great while you are on the daVinci Days electrathon site to also open up the blue "register" button and fill that out.  It says this is for the announcer but I'm not sure if we have someone else for that or it it is me?
--Practice laps start after passing inspection and run until 10:15
--Drivers meeting at 10:15
--The RACE starts at 11:00 both days.  Saturday the race is counterclockwise and Sunday it will be clockwise.
******I COULD REALLY USE HELP DURING THE RACE ITSELF!!!  I HAVE SOME VOLUNTEERS BUT NOT ENOUGH YET!*****
CENTENNIAL IS NOT COMING SO NO TRANSPONDER SYSTEM SO WE ARE BACK TO HAND COUNTING LAPS.  I have 2 people to enter numbers as cars pass on lap tops.  I still need a strong voice to call numbers and one tally marker for every 4 top 6 cars.
FLAGGERS is also a concern.  I will need a total of 8 flaggers besides me.
I have several people that said they are coming but don't know exactly how many will actually make it and want they are going to do.
***ALSO SINCE NO CENTENNIAL NO WALKIE TALKIES FOR THE FLAGGERS***  IF ANY ONE HAS SOME I COULD USE THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!
--Sunday morning I will arrive ~7:00 to reset the track for the other direction
--Sunday after the race we will hand out trophies ASAP
--Also Sunday after the race we will pick up the track, pits area, scoring area, etc. and load everything up and head home---another VOLUNTEER opportunity!!!

Pleas let me know ASAP if you are coming and about how many cars your are bringing.

Also if you are going to volunteer let me know ASAP so I can put your name on the list and get your free pass.

Thanks and hope to see most of you on the 20th.
Mike
